Mineral Wells, TX
2017
My brother and I made a trip to Mineral Wells Fossil Park in Mineral Wells, Texas. It's a large pit of exposed Pennsylvanian period rock. The fossils found there are over 300 million years old. The variety of fossils consist of such ancient sea species as crinoids (sea lilies), echinoids (urchins), brachiopods, pelecypods (clams and oysters), bryozoans, corals, trilobites (arthropods), plants and even primitive sharks.
