A Merry Christmas!

And, alike through storm and sunshine,

on back:

THE SONG OF THE STORK

       SUMMER

On meadow and hill and woodland
The sunshine showers its gold,
And the grateful earth in beauty
Restores it a thousand-fold.

The fields are fragrant with clover,
The lilies gleam on the lake,
And out of the glowing roses
The bees their honey-dew take.

The black clouds gather in battle,
The lighting quiver and flash;
And, drowning the rain's light patter,
Comes the awful thunder-crash.

And, alike through storm and sunshine,
With joy and peace in her breast!
The dear Mother - Stork sits tranquil,
High up on her airy nest.
